Distant vistas, golden grasses and sturdy
tree-warriors built to survive the incessant
wind and intense sun always inspire me out
on the Konza Prairie Preserve. One can walk
for miles through this protected area and
really experience the ancient seas of grass
and wooded draws and vast open space of
the rapidly vanishing prairie ecosystem. I
feel very fortunate to have this treasure
within an easy drive of my studio.
